Ancillary Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) Operative-Hoyland
We are pleased to offer a vacancy opportunity to join our existing dedicated AVP Operative team based at our Hoyland Ambulance Station.
You will clean, stock, check front line Ambulance Vehicles and maintain effective housekeeping of garage and associated clinical areas.
Unsociable out of hours payment is provided for this role: an extra 41% for hours between 20:00 and 06:00 & Sundays 83% for all hours worked within these times.
This role offers competitive out of hours unsocial rates on top of the basic salary indicated, with unsocial payments subject to NHS terms and conditions. Travel throughout Yorkshire may be required to other Ambulance Stations during your shift (transport provided).
Main Duties of the Job
Duties to include:
1. Process Ambulance Service Vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient.
2. Perform cleaning activities, checking stock and equipment, and completing vehicle checks.
3. Travel to assigned locations as required (transport will be provided).
No experience is required as full training will be given.

Job Responsibilities
A Driving License with C1 Class is Essential - You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a full C1 Category on your license which is valid within the UK.
The working days and times depend on operational/patient demand and may include Bank Holidays.
Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days (pro-rata) depending on NHS service length, plus bank holidays.

Person Specification
Experience
* Previous cleaning experience.
* Working knowledge of COSHH / Risk Assessments.
* Previous knowledge of Infection Control Procedures.
Personal / Other
* Driving licence with full Category C1 entitlement, valid in the UK.
* Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
* Ability to work unsocial hours on a 7 day/24 hour shift rota system.
* Previous experience of implementing effective Infection Prevention and Control measures.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Good literacy and numerical skills to pass required examinations and tests.
* Acceptance of and commitment to the Trust's Equal Opportunities Policy.
* Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety, COSHH, Risk Assessments preferably associated with standard procedures and practices within the cleaning services sector.
* Ability to complete tasks and achieve results.
* Effective communicator, both verbal and written.
* Basic IT Skills (Email, Internet, Office) including hand-held data devices (Tablets, Telephones).
* Ability to work alone and deal with issues according to written procedures using initiative.
