An International Mining company is recruiting for a Senior Contracts Administrator to work on a large UK based Mining project. This is a long term contract opportunity in Yorkshire
As Senior Contracts Administrator you will be providing assistance and ownership with Contract Administration/Management for local and international contracts for the Project including engineering, environmental and biodiversity consultants.
Contracts Administration includes scoping requirements, tender packages, coordinating tendering and evaluation processes, tender rules compliance, negotiating, contract awarding and administration against approved budgets and forecasts, verifying progress claims and administering payments, in close consultation with contract owners. Contracts must conform to legislative requirements and meet company objectives.
The role is broad in scope -supporting the Project Services Manager and will suiting someone with good fundamental writing and numeric skills, efficient administration and competence at managing competing priorities whilst working autonomously for large parts of their working day. This role will suit someone with interests in large-scale projects encompassing a wide variety of disciplines.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
5 years + experience as a Contracts Administrator or Contracts Engineer on substantial projects in the main construction, Mining, Infrastructure or Oil & Gas industries.
A relevant qualification in one of the following areas: Quantity Surveyor/ Contract Law/ Legal.
It is essential that you have a high competency with Microsoft systems and general competency with IT systems.
Familiarity with accounting procedures and knowledge of UK VAT and principles of Withholding Tax would be beneficial. Familiarity with SAP is especially desired.
Experience and ability to manage external stakeholders, including: contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
Having appreciation of remote site based contractual issues and other matters referred to in terms and conditions of contracts that have commercial impact on the project.
It is desirable that you have work experience in the project development phases.
Understanding of project and contract strategy to maximise the resources and optimising the economics. Understanding the motivations to adhere to budgets
