Reporting to: Head of Quality and Health & Safety
Location: Head Office at Mallusk, with responsibility for Quality management at the Mallusk facility.
Job Purpose
As the Quality Manager, you will lead the quality assurance and quality control functions for Brett Martin, ensuring the highest standards of product quality and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the production and operations teams to develop, implement, and enhance quality systems, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and respond to customer feedback. This role is key in promoting a culture of quality excellence and proactive problem-solving.
About The Role
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and Maintain Quality Systems
* Establish and continuously improve quality management systems to support product and service excellence across production lines.
* Maintain certification in ISO 9001 and relevant other standards, ensuring compliance and best practices are followed.
Customer Complaint Management
* Manage investigations into quality issues reported by customers, ensuring implementation of corrective actions is completed to effectively close out complaints and prevent recurrence.
* Work with cross-functional teams to support customers and resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Audits and Assessments
* Manage an effective internal audit plan to assess adherence to quality standards and continually improving the management system
* Manage supplier quality audits to ensure the supply chain meets company quality expectations and standards.
Quality Data Analysis and Reporting
* Monitor, collate, and analyse quality performance data to identify trends
* Use this analysis to identify and action opportunities to improve
* Provide regular updates on quality metrics and corrective actions to the Head of QHSE.
Digitisation and Innovation
* Support the digitisation of the company’s Quality Management System, enabling more efficient data management and reporting processes.
Cross-Functional Engagement
* Collaborate closely with operations and sales teams to align production standards with customer requirements and support accurate product representation.
* Engage with the operations team to build a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement
* Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational efficiency.
* Promote a culture of proactive problem-solving and innovation to enhance overall quality performance.
Leadership and Development
* Provide guidance and support to quality team members, ensuring effective organisation, skill development, and team cohesion.
* Establish clear goals, objectives, and performance expectations for the quality team.
Regulatory Compliance
* Maintain a current understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in quality management to ensure the organisation’s compliance.
* Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to address compliance-related matters.
Required Criteria
* Proven experience in quality management, with a track record of success in a manufacturing environment.
* Relevant 3rd level qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
* Strong IT proficiency, with experience using Microsoft Office
* Demonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies, with the ability to apply CI tools effectively
* Competence in team leadership, organisation, and delegation.
* Practical knowledge of recognised problem solving tools
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
* Practical, solution-focused approach to strategic and operational challenges.
* Confident and constructive in challenging the status quo.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Desired Criteria
* Experience in Health and Safety, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
* Membership in the Chartered Quality Institute.
* Lead Auditor certification
* Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI
