The successful candidate will share our vision and values of achieving excellence and our commitment to continuously improving the standards of teaching and learning in a dedicated and forward-looking team of 4 teachers, including the Curriculum Leader and Head of Faculty. The History department delivers Key Stage 3 History over two years and Key Stage 4 over three years.
We are looking for someone who:
1. Has a strong ethos of high achievement and success within the Learning Area.
2. Has the ability to create, plan and deliver a History curriculum that will develop pupils' skills, knowledge, understanding and their love for learning in the 21st century.
3. Is skilled at fostering independent and collaborative student-led learning.
The History team are an enthusiastic and committed team who pride themselves on not only delivering a dynamic curriculum but also offering a range of extra-curricular activities to help foster a love of History and a desire to learn. We run annual History trips abroad, including Poland/Berlin at Key Stage 4 and Belgium/France at Key Stage 3, which are extremely popular. We pride our studies on a Representative Curriculum and have very close links with local museums, speakers, and community projects. The Humanities Faculty is extremely friendly and supportive.
