We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Nurse to join our friendly In-Patient Unit team in Basildon to gain knowledge and experience within Palliative Care.
This opportunity is to work rotational long days and night shifts.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse in our In-Patient Unit at Basildon, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of excellent, high-quality care, coordinating with other healthcare professionals, assisting with patient admissions and discharges, and adhering to nursing standards and best practices. You should have a current nursing registration and previous experience in a healthcare setting. Key traits for success in this role are excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Working alongside other healthcare providers, our specialist services are available at the hospice, out in the community, or in a person's place of residence. Together, we fulfill people's choices at the end of their life. We are a charity, and the services we provide are free. We rely on voluntary income from local people to deliver the care they deserve.
Job responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
* Providing excellent high-quality patient care
* Coordinating with doctors and other healthcare professionals
* Managing patient admissions and discharges
* Caring for patients at end of life
* Maintaining nursing documentation and patient records (SystmOne)
* Participating in staff meetings and continuous education opportunities

Experience
* Proven experience within a healthcare setting
* Ability to work well in a team
* An understanding and empathetic approach to patient care
Qualifications
* Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
