Our client is an International Global Freight Forwarder, specialising within the Far East and USA as their main areas. They form partnerships to freight manage their client's global business, allowing the client to concentrate on its core business. Their management team is focused on achieving higher levels of service both internally and externally.
Now, due to expansion, we are recruiting for an Ocean Import Operator to join the team at the Birmingham location.
Your role will involve:
1. Developing and building relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to customers.
2. Ensuring freight is moved on time with all the necessary documentation.
3. Arranging haulage with shipping lines.
4. Ensuring all freight is invoiced and checked prior to dispatch.
5. Ensuring all relevant documents are on hand as required.
6. Resolving and actioning requests and queries quickly and efficiently.
7. Communicating with overseas agents, customers, and suppliers in a clear and precise manner.
8. Using customer ERP and SAP systems as required.
In order to apply you will have:
1. Experience of Ocean freight forwarding.
2. Ability to work under pressure to meet fixed deadlines.
3. Strong numerical and commercial skills.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Proficient usage of computer/operating systems (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office; Cargowise preferable).
7. Proactive team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills.
8. Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated.
