Audit & Accounts Manager - Professional Services, Real Estate & Construction Location: London Role: 70 Audit and 30% Accounting / Advisory About the role You will be part of a tight knit team, working directly with partners and directors, providing client focused and commercially aware services in an efficient and professional manner. You will mentor, train and manage junior members of staff to enable them to develop and progress with the option of being involved in formal training if desired. You will be assigned a partner mentor to help you work on your personal career development with progression opportunities available at all levels. You will actively promote and market the firm and its services, to attract new clients and retain and develop relationships with existing clients, with the opportunity to specialise in specific sectors. Responsible for a portfolio of clients 500k gross recurring fees, covering a variety of business activities, sizes and structures. Your role will be audit focused while getting exposure to wider business advisory work as required. Key Responsibilities Day to day contact with team, clients and other professional advisors. All aspects of audit and accounts assignment management: Job planning Budgeting Time management Delegating to and supervising of team Subsequent monitoring of team progress and managing projects Detailed review of file, debriefing team with a key focus on feedback Reviewing corporation tax computations and liaising with Tax Specialists Finalisation of file for Partner review, including the calculation of corporation tax Subsequent submission to HMRC and Companies House Promoting the interests of the firm with all employed by the firm, clients, prospective clients and other third parties. Motivation and encouragement of team, providing timely constructive feedback. Staff Management Overseeing and mentoring trainees during their training contract providing assistance when required. Assisting in the motivation and supervision of staff (especially trainees). Assisting staff in finding suitable work to keep them fully occupied, also ensuring their development and progress and all staff are fully debriefed after jobs. Assisting with in-house training. Providing upward feedback. Practice Development Attending client gatherings or client seminars on an ad hoc basis. Identifying account development opportunities with clients and progressing these in liaison with the partner. Assisting with preparation and presentation of new client pitches. Administration Providing innovative ideas to improve systems currently in practice with regards to client or staff matters. Assisting with billing procedures. Assisting with debt collection where appropriate in liaison with client partner. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Relevant Accounting Qualification such as ACA or ACCA or international equivalent. 3.5 - 4 years UK experience gained Experience managing both people and a portfolio Current portfolio must have a minimum of 40% audit work Good understanding of corporate tax High level of familiarity with UK auditing and accounting standards Commercially aware and able to apply and communicate technical knowledge in a clear and commercial way Experience of auditing Professional Services or Real Estate & Construction businesses Experience in both substantive and controls based audits, group reporting and cross border groups Expertise in delivery of the primary accounting frameworks (UK GAAP, FRS 101, FRS 102 and IFRS) Commitment to client care and service beyond expectation Commitment to CPD and ensuring technical competence is continually improved Ability to give feedback in a constructive manner Deadlines/time management Attention to detail Adaptable/flexible Great benefits and packgae on
