The CAD Technician will take responsibility for visualising our proposals and showing our customers how their electrification journey looks. At EO we know it is vitally important to display our technical schemes and layouts to help our customers understand how they will integrate with their operations; so this role is crucial for us.
The CAD Technician will be involved throughout the Development phase, taking information from site surveys and developing Indicative plans and visualisations of the scheme. For each project we will undertake a detailed site survey including measurements, dimensions and sketches which will be passed to the CAD Technician to draw and detail the scheme.
Projects will be located across the UK and EU with occasional attendance to support site surveys to record measurements, site details and customer requirements. Travel will be required but will be arranged to suit the individuals needs.
The role will interact closely with the Director of Project Development (who directly report) and wider teams in the delivery business unit. In addition, the job holder will actively participate in specific project concept, development, software, O&M activity and be responsible for ensuring bid/contract Governance compliance.
Key Responsibilities -
* Independently request and specify information required from site surveys to enable production of Indicative Layouts.
* Create 2D and 3D visualisations of our proposed schemes, indicating interfaces with customer operations.
* Ensure that layouts are scaled based on site measures and from existing Topo surveys.
* Work closely with Development team to ensure that client needs and demands are met.
* Work closely with Design team to ensure that relevant standards and regulations are met, and scheme is compliant.
* Full familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit etc and ability to translate requests into visualisations.
* Produce accurate technical drawings with dimensions, annotations, and necessary details for manufacturing or construction purposes.
* Manage a portfolio of CAD projects, track deadlines, and maintain design file organization.
* Ability to undertake site surveys, record dimensions and appreciate existing electrical equipment and switchgear
* Confidence to share and conduct calls with internal and external stakeholders and technical knowledge to be able to detail proposed ideas
* Responsible for ensuring all activity is completed in relation to CDM compliance
* Responsible for delivering project associated governance activity during development
* Ability to detail and form technical information into a manner that is clear to our customers
* Assisting to compile developmental activity and estimating activity into a clear proposal or bid for our customers
About you -
* Engineering/Sustainability based Degree
* Relevant technical qualification
* Ability and experience in using AutoCAD, Revit and other similar software packages
* Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and MS Project
* Demonstrate the ability to balance priorities among competing needs whilst providing the highest level of value to the company
* Demonstrate an understanding of the ecosystem approach to EV adoption on a large scale
* Understanding and experience with CDM
* Experience of supply chain engagement and bidding process
* Ability to perform a key role within a governance framework
* Commercially aware with a strong proven background in infrastructure development
* Ability to collaborate ensuring compliance to health, safety, and environmental legislation. Able to minimise risk through developing and endorsing safe operating processes
* Proven track record of delivering targets whilst maintaining outstanding customer relations/ services
