Responsibilities As a Finance Executive / Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Financial Administration : Assist with managing the charity’s financial records, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date. Payment Processing & Payroll : Help process payments, manage payroll, and support the day-to-day financial transactions. Compliance Support : Assist in ensuring the charity remains compliant with all legal, financial, and regulatory requirements. Financial Reporting : Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for management and trustees. Cash Flow Management : Monitor and track cash flow, helping to ensure the charity’s financial health and assisting with budget management. External Liaison : Liaise with auditors, banks, suppliers, and other external parties as needed. Policy Support : Assist in implementing and maintaining financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. Gift Aid & Donor Contributions : Help manage gift aid claims, donor contributions, and financial reporting to regulators. Financial Systems Support : Work with the IT team to support the automation of finance department functions. Trustee Support : Provide administrative support to the trustees for financial oversight and reporting. Requirements To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has: Some experience in finance or accounting (preferably within a charity or nonprofit setting). Familiarity with financial administration, accounting, and basic compliance procedures. Experience with payroll processing or accounts management is an advantage. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Knowledge of charity accounting regulations (SORP) is beneficial, but not essential. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Additional Details Hours : This is a part-time role requiring 1-2 days per week in the office, with potential for more hours as the role evolves.
