The Centre for Student and Community Engagement works across key points of students’ higher education experience from outreach to graduation. The post is located in the Student Engagement & Analytics Team, a team dedicated to supporting current students to overcome barriers to completing their courses. The team runs the NTU Student Dashboard, an award-winning learning analytics platform designed to help students and the staff who support them. The Dashboard is well established, however we have recently begun a new phase of work using an integrated call centre.
The post holder will:
1. Design and carry out evaluations of the impact of interventions and the nature of student engagement more broadly.
2. Manage a researcher and provide information for senior management.
3. Find ways to make engagement data more readily available for other researchers.
The post holder must have:
1. Excellent qualitative research and data literacy skills.
2. The ability to communicate effectively to non-expert audiences.
3. An understanding of the implications of data for a large complex organisation.
4. The ability to work empathetically, understanding the barriers to success that students from disadvantaged backgrounds can face.
