As a Technical Support Engineer - Tooling Design, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Design and develop new tooling concepts, supporting technical teams with drawings
2. Create detailed tooling designs in SolidWorks, coordinating with internal/external suppliers
3. Provide technical liaison for tooling development with internal and external resources
4. Support daily tooling operations, including new, modified, and repaired tooling documentation
5. Develop LTLGS tooling work instructions for consistent quality and maintenance
6. Collaborate on process improvements, optimize tooling, and address non-conformities while maintaining OEM standards
7. Create necessary engineering documentation
The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements:
8. Minimum HND in a mechanical discipline with strong CAD experience Higher qualifications considered if passionate about tooling design
9. Training in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Statistical Process Control is a plus
10. Strong CAD modeling and drafting skills (SolidWorks preferred) for tooling, jigs, and fixtures
11. Experience in metal component processing and surface finishing operations
12. Proficient in IT, with high analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
13. Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
14. Team player with experience in a matrix environment
15. Innovative, analytical, decisive, and goal-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
16. Flexible work schedule based on business needs; occasional travel may be required
17. Office-based role with regular exposure to plating shop chemicals
