You will be responsible for ensuring that financial processes and controls are operating over all aspects of financial reporting, accounting, systems, compliance and business transactions. Working in Long Marston, the successful candidate will manage team, working under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Financial Controller. Key Responsibilities Work with the Finance controller to ensure that at all times we strive for excellence in the finance support to the business Ensuring the UK systems, accounting policies and procedures are in compliance with statutory, tax legislation and industry regulation requirements. Liaise closely with Financial Controller on all accounting and systems issues as necessary Take a lead role with our external auditors, Deloitte, in ensuring a smooth and efficient audit and completion of statutory accounts. Ensure tax compliance and liaise with external tax advisors Responsible for fixed asset compliance, ensuring CER policies are adhered to and the turnaround time for CER sign-off is timely to support the business operations. Ensure that the leasing system is up to date and the IFRS16 accounting entries understood. Preparation of internal and external reporting requirements Timely preparation of monthly management accounts in conjunction with F, P & A team Ensure that month end control file is properly prepared, reviewed and signed off reconciliation preparation / review. Assist the Company Secretary with the management of insurance requirements of the business. Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community. Key Skills/Competencies The successful individual is expected to have strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. The successful individual will need to be comfortable that their job will involve significant hands on work. Qualifications Qualified Accountant with ideally at least 5 years post qualification experience Experience of dealing with financial accounting in a large business environment. Experience of working with substantial export volumes, therefore appreciation of currency hedging and commodity hedging would be an advantage. Knowledge and exposure to working in a well-controlled and compliant business environment, demonstrating appreciation for legislation in the industry and risk management. The successful individual is expected to have strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Furthermore, the successful individual will need to be comfortable that their job will involve hands on work. Strong Excel skills essential and experience of using Navision, Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics beneficial. Experience of new system implementation also beneficial
