Position: Immigration Caseworker / Solicitor
As an Immigration Caseworker/Solicitor, you will autonomously manage a diverse caseload, providing expert advice primarily to private immigration clients. In certain instances, your expertise will extend to advising employers, corporate entities, and other organizations. Collaborating seamlessly with partners, fellow fee earners, and legal professionals within the firm, you will be an integral member of a collegial, supportive, and highly experienced team.
Responsibilities and Attributes:
• Proficiently guide clients through a comprehensive spectrum of applications under immigration rules, encompassing partners and family members under Appendix FM, parents and children involved in adoption and surrogacy proceedings, high net worth individuals and their families within the Points Based System, as well as counsel for students, visitors, and overseas domestic workers.
• Assisting EEA nationals and their family members with applications grounded in EU law.
• Exhibit adept knowledge and experience in human rights applications and remedies. (appeals, administrative reviews, and judicial reviews).
• Display familiarity with refugee protection law, demonstrating the ability to provide counsel on asylum claims.
• Offer expert advice on nationality law, proficiently handling naturalization and registration applications.
• Preparing bespoke submission instructions to assist clients filing application by post from within the UK or at Entry Clearance Posts overseas or Premium Service Centres in the UK.
• Proactively liaise with UKVI, ensuring effective communication and keeping clients apprised of the progress of their application.
• Provide guidance on and meticulously prepare appeals, administrative reviews, and judicial reviews.
• Keeping up to date with changes to UKVI policies and procedures and cascading knowledge as appropriate.
• Possess a robust technical knowledge base particularly in the intricate landscape of appeals.
