The Roads Service is seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic individual to head up its Road Safety and Transportation Team.
You will be educated to HNC/Diploma or degree level in an appropriate discipline and have experience in a number of the following disciplines: the development and implementation of all aspects of road safety; the coordination of operational activities relating to public transport infrastructure and services; the production of preliminary designs or design briefs for the construction and implementation of road safety, sustainable travel and active travel projects within the Roads Service.
You will be responsible for managing a team of 3 Technical Officers to deliver against the various duties assigned to the Team. This will involve conducting one to ones and handling employee relations matters.
The successful applicant is expected to have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines as part of a team or on their own initiative. It would be advantageous for candidates to have a local authority background.
