The Infrastructure Directorate is the City of Stirling’s largest and most diverse Directorate, managing many of the City’s important assets and services while delivering a multi-million-dollar portfolio of projects.

About the Position
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trades Assistant to join our team on a casual basis, working 3 days per week. The successful candidate will assist our mechanics in conducting repairs and maintenance of Council plant and mechanical equipment, and ensure the workshop is maintained in a safe, clean, and tidy condition.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Trades Assistant will include but are not limited to:
* Assist in the service and repair of plant, equipment, and vehicles to manufacturer specifications.
* Adhere to safety requirements and procedures as set out in policies.
* Assist with the identification and ordering of parts.
* Maintain a clean and serviceable workshop.
* Liaise with the Leading Hand Heavy Duty Mechanic on operational and administrative duties.
* Carry out other duties as required within the employee’s skill, competence, and training.
About You
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply; all applications will be considered.
* High School Certificate or equivalent education.
* Current national Manual “C” class driver’s licence.

This Casual position is a Level 6 Outside Workforce Agreement position which attracts an hourly rate of $38.18 + 25% casual loading.
To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have the ability to obtain a:
* A copy of Australian driving licence.
* National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months).
* Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance.
* The right to work in Australia.
