Band 3 - Activity Coordinator - Full Time - Permanent (Multiple Vacancies)
Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP) is building a new Mental Health Inpatient Service in Chertsey, Surrey. Silverwood will contain four adult inpatient wards and is due to open in February 2025. Our ambition is to transform inpatient mental healthcare for our local population.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new service providing excellent care to our patients within a state-of-the-art facility. You will work with experienced, knowledgeable, dedicated colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary team. We are developing new ways of working and want you to be part of the team who will provide effective assessment, treatment, and high-quality care to our patients.
Main duties of the job
* Organise, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities in an inclusive, stimulating, and safe environment.
* Ascertain and interpret group interests, evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to meet individual participant needs.
* Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities, and demonstrate use of materials and equipment.
* Develop positive relationships with participants.
* Adopt a pragmatic and non-judgmental approach.
* Provide structured opportunities for people to relax and socialise.

Qualifications
* NVQ level 3 or at least 3 years' experience within a health care role.
Experience
* Experience of working within adult mental health services.

Salary: £25,329 to £26,958 a year, Incl 5% Fringe HCAS, pa, pro rata.
