Exciting Opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse – Chemotherapy Day Unit
Are you passionate about Oncology and Haematology nursing? Join our dynamic and supportive Chemotherapy Day Unit as a Band 5 Staff Nurse.
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to a diverse group of chemotherapy patients in a fast-paced, nurse-led environment. You should be able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

1. To plan, implement, deliver and evaluate nursing care within the day unit.
2. To be responsible for high standards of nursing care.
3. To assist in the auditing of patient care and service delivery.
4. To maintain good nursing documentation in accordance with trust policy.
5. To maintain patient confidentiality.
6. To ensure safe and appropriate discharge from the Day Unit following consultation/treatment.
7. To be aware of legislation regarding Health and Safety and COSHH and to act accordingly.
8. To demonstrate a sound knowledge of the principles of infection control and perform to the highest standards when completing aseptic techniques.
9. To manage and advise patients and other members of staff on peripheral and central lines.
10. To be able to interpret blood results and act accordingly.
11. To acquire, use, develop and teach additional skills e.g. venesection, cannulation and venepuncture.
