After School Play Leader – Unique Children's Wraparound Club in Thames Ditton!
Casual/Flexible hours on offer with majority of available hours being 2pm-6:30pm Tuesday to Thursday and up to 40 hours during holiday camps if available
£10ph-12.21ph (dependent on age, experience and qualifications) plus holiday pay allowance
We are recruiting for a brand new wraparound childcare business in the heart of Thames Ditton based in the Vital Village Community Hub. They provide before and after school club services that go far beyond childcare, ensuring the time is spent in an enriching way that complements every family's daily routine.
We are excited to introduce a dynamic and flexible opportunity for an experienced Play Leader to join their team. This role is integral to the company's ethos enabling children to thrive through engaging indoor and outdoor activities and they would love individuals to join their team who are passionate about sharing this environment and can bring something new and exciting to the group.

Children will enjoy a range of different activities, including a variety of structured activities such as Multi Sports, performing arts, languages and music lessons, as well as stations across the premises offering Arts and Crafts, Book Corners, and so on. Activities will be seasonal and will emphasise sustainability where appropriate!
A little bit about what you’ll be doing...
* Collect children with the team for the after school clubs from three local schools, this will be via a minibus or walking bus.
* Lead large group activities such as group games/challenges and sporting activities.
* Lead small group activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, and board games.
* As part of a team, create an inspiring, inclusive, safe, caring and stimulating play environment which meets the needs of the individual children.
* Prepare and provide children with a healthy and nutritious snack and meals, ensuring hygiene and health & safety standards are met.
* Attend and participate in daily de-briefs and additional meetings as and when needed.
A little bit about you…
* An NVQ 2 in Playwork or Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable or relevant experience and willingness to learn and train within the role.
* Excellent understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted in a childcare environment.
* Honest and open communication is a must have!
* You have experience of working with 3–11-year olds and are a big kid at heart! You must love to have 'responsible’ fun and create meaningful moments for people.
* You have a can-do approach, thinking on your feet, switching up tasks and juggling multiple priorities.
* You are driven, people focused, and have excellent communication skills.
* Having a Paediatric First Aid qualification and an enhanced DBS is desirable but will be provided if you do not have this.
