Are you an experienced and proactive Teaching Assistant, confident with social emotional mental health? Can you build a professional rapport quickly with Primary aged students 7 - 11 years old? If yes, keep reading.
We need a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a local Newbury primary school. This role is predominantly focused on the SEMH of the key stage 1 and key stage 2 children, many of whom have challenging home lives and/or have SEN challenges that result in mental health concerns.
The SEMH Teaching Assistant role:
* Prepare, conduct and accurately deliver one to one /1:1 interventions to KS1/KS2 students.
* Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and report any concerns to the Designated Safeguard Lead immediately.
* Support and enhance the Newbury students' classroom curriculum, as many students require 1:1 outside the classroom support with maths, literacy and phonics.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Proven track record experience supporting EYFS/KS1/KS2 students with SEN such as ASD, ADHD, AuDHD, Dyslexia, Physical Disabilities and other SEN challenges in any Training and Development in Education.
* Any relevant childcare qualifications Level 3 and above.
* GCSE Maths and English (Min Grade 4/C).
* Degree in STEM or Psychology based subjects (preferred).
* Hold a clear Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete.
