Job overview
Are you passionate about supporting the career development of students, support workers and registrants within the AHP workforce? Are you an experienced clinician, passionate about delivering high quality, evidenced-based and compassionate patient care? Are you wanting to expand and grow your leadership skills? If so, this could be the right role for you!
We are looking for an experienced, patient-centered AHP to take up our AHP practice educator role working within our AHP faculty supported by our faculty lead and Chief Allied Health Professional. You will work closely with clinical teams across a wide range of specialties delivering key streams of work on behalf of our faculty.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of the AHP faculty team to provide support and guidance to AHP learners across all staff groups. They will work in partnership with stakeholders to ensure the development of inter-professional learning opportunities in practice.
In addition, you will ensure that appropriate learning environments are created and maintained to drive the integration of theory with practice, working in conjunction with service leads and lead professionals for AHPs to deliver excellent learning opportunities across all areas of practice.
The post holder will establish and maintain good and effective working relationships with colleagues both within and outside UHL to improve education. This includes educational providers, AHP leads, multidisciplinary teams, and external organisations ensuring all relevant parties are informed on matters relating to education and practice.
Working for our organisation
Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030). We have four primary goals:
* high-quality care for all,
* being a great place to work,
* partnerships for impact, and
* research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will promote and maintain high professional standards of verbal, written and non-verbal communication, including complex and sensitive information relating to patients for themselves and for students for whom they are responsible.
They will ensure effective communication and promotion of the service and where appropriate organise, lead and co-ordinate such meetings.
The post holder will, through the AHP faculty, inform AHP leaders about potential changes to practice education and learning for both students, support workers and registrants.
They will promote an understanding of the professions and contribute to the sharing of learning across professional and organisational boundaries to promote improvements in AHP practice education.
