What is the role?
The role of the class teacher within the new and unique initiative is to teach young people returning to South Ayrshire Council from outwith Education providers. The teacher will work in partnership with schools across the Authority to co-create a bespoke curriculum aimed at meeting the needs of the young people.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of trauma informed working and will be expected to have experience of extensive work with mainstream schools and families to embed nurturing practice.
They should work to support young people to fully attain and reach their potential. There will be significant cross sector working in order to develop creative programmes to engage young people in learning and preparing for positive destinations.
Experience of supporting pupils who display dysregulated behaviour and a knowledge of nurture principles, ACES, Trauma and Attachment theory would be desirable.

The Grade of this post is Teacher (Maingrade) with the annual salary from £33, to £50,. This post is temporary until 10 October .
