NRL are recruiting on behalf of our client for a HSE Advisor based in Alloa.
We are seeking a SHE Advisor with a focus on Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) to support a new build air separation unit project in Alloa. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards across the site. Your expertise will contribute significantly to maintaining a culture of safety and compliance throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring SHE Performance: Evaluate SHE performance at the site and regional level, providing detailed reports to operational management that highlight successes and identify areas for improvement.
2. Supporting Improvement Initiatives: Assist in the development and roll-out of site-specific SHE improvement actions, plans, and strategies to enhance overall safety and environmental standards.
3. Compliance Management: Ensure all activities comply with UK Health & Safety Legislation, CDM Regulations, and client-specific standards. Oversee and guide compliance efforts throughout all project phases.
4. Accident and Incident Investigations: Lead thorough investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Compile detailed reports, share lessons learned, and contribute to the continuous improvement of SHE practices.
5. Documentation Review: Critically review safety documentation, such as Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), for E&I works, ensuring they meet health and safety requirements.
6. Site Inspections and Advising: Conduct regular site visits, advising site and project management on health, safety, and environmental matters and ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
7. Best Practice Promotion: Encourage and promote best practices in SHE across all levels of the project, supporting a proactive safety culture.
8. Training and Awareness: Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings focused on health, safety, and well-being, tailored to construction-specific and E&I-related themes.
9. Health and Wellbeing Campaigns: Coordinate and lead health and well-being initiatives, acting as a Mental Health Champion and advocating for a positive workplace culture.
10. Environmental Compliance: Assist in managing environmental responsibilities, ensuring adherence to environmental requirements and promoting sustainable practices on-site.
Requirements:
1. Professional Memberships: Associate, Tech, or Grad Membership of IOSH; IEMA membership is an advantage.
2. Certifications: Minimum NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
3. Mental Health Advocacy: Experience or training as a Mental Health Champion is highly desirable.
Duration: March 2025
Rate: CIS £400 day rate (All inclusive)
