JOB PURPOSE
The role holder will work with senior management in nexfibre as well as with nexfibre’s board of Directors and investors across a variety of areas to help define the strategic priorities and direction of the business.
This role will have responsibility for creating and managing a range of projects across all aspects of the business from our network build plan, to the commercialisation of our network through wholesale and B2B. The role will support our assessment of the competitive landscape and will be a key member of the team analysing inorganic M&A opportunities.
The role will work very closely with the strategy and investment teams at our investors as well as the team at Virgin Media O2.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Working in a high growth, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment, focused on highest standards of implementation and delivery.
* Working collaboratively and partnering across technical and operational business teams as well as with external partners and advisers.
* Responsibility for analysing the strategic landscape of the business and providing recommendations to senior management.
* Creation and management of strategic projects for organic and inorganic business opportunities (including wholesale and B2B opportunities as well as M&A).
* Acting as a senior member of the nexfibre team, staying up to date with the competitive landscape and trends and the fostering of excellence and best practice.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
* Degree level education / relevant professional qualifications.
* Extensive experience in strategy consultancy (private practice/inhouse) or M&A corporate finance, ideally in the telecoms sector and with fibre experience.
* Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and project management skills.
* Geo-spatial analytical experience would be an advantage.
* Self-sufficient, comfortable with working autonomously as well as in cross-functional teams and proactive in proposing commercial solutions; acting as strategic business adviser to senior management.
* Dynamic and proficient in managing multiple projects at any one time.
* Strong commercial acumen, together with the ability and creditability to form effective relationships across all levels, including senior levels of management.
