Job Purpose
To support our mission & promise to deliver connections and the wider infrastructure needed to make net zero a reality, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join the Asset Lifecycle team within Electricity Transmission. The location is flexible with the opportunity to be based out of one of our many offices and sites across England and Wales. Occasional travel to our Warwick office and other sites will be expected.
About the role
You’ll be working as an Asset Lifecycle Engineer in the Substation Infrastructure Team where we’re responsible for the asset management of over 1 million critical assets and systems that support the HV network. The roles we’re currently recruiting for will be working on systems including:
* Fire suppression and deluge systems
* Oil containment and drainage
* Other mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems such as flood defences and pumps
As an Asset Lifecycle engineer you will be working in cross functional teams to determine and implement appropriate asset stewardship including:
* Assessing asset condition
* Determining and implementing maintenance strategies
* Developing asset replacement strategies
* Maintaining and updating technical policy
* Providing technical leadership and advice to project and maintenance teams
You don’t need to be an expert in all of this; it is expected that you will develop into this role through a combination of on the job and formal training. We are passionate about your development so that is baked into your workload.
About You
We cover a lot of technical areas so we’re looking for a versatile engineer who is keen to learn and develop, take ownership of technical challenges, and solve them.
You will be a self starter who is eager to develop their business and technical skills. Ideally you will have knowledge and understanding of the principles of Asset Management as well as experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Building /facility services engineering
Qualifications
* Essential - Numerate degree, or equivalent experience and working towards professional registration (Ieng, CEng etc.)
* Desirable – Institute of Asset Management “Principles of Asset Management” certificate

A competitive salary between £45,561 – £65,000– dependent on capability and experience
