Salary: £32,010- £37,626 (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 21 per week
Benmore is one of the City of Edinburgh Council's three outdoor Learning Centres. Located across Scotland we are committed to delivering high quality Outdoor Learning and residential experiences. At weekends and holidays our centres offer self-catered stays and catered group activity packages to invest and support this commitment.
The Facilities Coordinator will be based at Benmore Outdoor Centre in Dunoon. This post is an integral part of the centre’s management and wider Sports and Outdoor Learning team. This is a new part time position which benefits from Local Authority Terms Conditions. Initially fixed term for 12 months.
You will be responsible to the Edinburgh based Sales and Operations Officer and support the on-site Operations Manager and centre-based team daily.
You will be office based at Benmore, an effective and organised administrator and motivated front facing host - communicating with customers online, over the phone and face to face.
Solution focused and adaptable you will contribute to the delivery of a consistently excellent experience and help to develop our service. The right person will be committed, creative and open to embracing new challenges and projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced supervisor, coordinator or manager to work as part of a positive forward-thinking team and organisation contributing to shaping a successful future.
Key tasks will be to support the co-ordination of residential visits, promote commercial availability and opportunities, provide safe and sought-after facilities and accommodation and maximise income for re-investment.
You will work closely as one of two Facility Coordinators, line managing the facility team of Cooks and Domestics Assistants to deliver high standards, safely carry out their duties and ensure customer satisfaction.
You will be responsible for all aspects of Facilities Management including the presentation of the accommodation, quality of catering and the maintenance and compliance of the property and grounds. An understanding of premises/workplace health and safety and a hands-on approach to facilities and property management would be highly beneficial. An interest in sustainability - eco/green tourism in the Dunoon area and experience in Outdoor Learning, Hospitality, Leisure or Tourism sector would be advantageous.
IT and Digital competency is important, a knowledge of budget monitoring and performance reporting is desirable, as is an understanding of financial procedures particularly income reconciliation and council procurement.
Full training required for the post will be provided and there are personal development opportunities for the successful candidate.
