This role operates on a day shift schedule, Monday to Friday Shift Pattern with 8:45- 17:00 Hours
The purpose of this role is to maintain the site assets to achieve optimum operational efficiency, statutory and customer compliance whilst complying with all H&S requirements: -
Effective & efficient maintenance of the site’s assets from a mechanical, electrical or process perspective.
Execute work schedule, PPM’s, breakdowns, capital and CI work streams.
Help the site to achieve optimal operational efficiency at lowest cost through the delivery of targets against the strategic objectives of the Group Supply function.
Work with the site Engineering, Team, Senior Leadership Team, Group Engineering and Projects Team to support the delivery of an agreed manufacturing vision and strategy.
Principal Responsibilities
Safety, Quality, Hygiene
1. Ensure that when carrying out all duties that due regard to own safety and that of others is always considered.
2. Strict adherence to all H&S work policies e.g. Lock out and Tag (Isolation of all energy sources when undertaking any work) and Use of the “Permit to Work/Enter” system.
3. Carry out duties ensuring the site achieves and maintains required GMP standards
4. Ensure all work conforms to statutory & safety requirements
5. Ensure that risk assessments are completed and actioned.
6. Support a culture that enhances behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near misses
7. Reducing customer complaints and wastage through effective maintenance and continuous improvement.
8. To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to
Operations Management
9. With Area Coordinator establish clear objectives and priorities to enable manufacturing to meet operational targets.
10. Responsible for recording work carried out with regards to PPM’s, breakdowns, repairs and modifications. Taking ownership for issues to ensure follow-up is carried out and the original issues are closed off.
11. Assist with training and support other departments in general running of the factory.
12. Identify own training needs and with manager agree a time plan for achieving this.
Continuous Improvement
13. Promote and comply and to 5S and GMP and other continuous improvement tools to identify areas for improvement to enhance quality, safety, efficiency and waste reduction
14. Continually review performance, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve performance.
Communication
15. Ensuring that both verbal and written communication is succinct and accurate i.e. handovers/end/start of shift reporting.
16. Communicate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams daily ensuring work status reporting is concise.
17. Communicate as required with Engineering Stores to ensure that spares are available for planned and breakdown maintenance.
Role Requirements Experience Required
18. Have completed recognised and relevant engineering apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 or above ( or equivalent), preferably a multi skilled apprenticeship.
19. Ideally experience in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
20. PC literate.
21. Experience of using CMMS preferably SAP.
22. Worked within a regulated environment and used Permit to Work systems and dynamic risk assessments.
23. Has a good working knowledge of and uses problem solving techniques such as fault finding and root cause analysis to close out actions to a permanent fix.
24. Ability to read & understand technical manuals and engineering drawings.
25. Advanced diagnostic skills, mechanical, electrical, PLC and process.
