As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a small and experienced Engineering team, working on a variety of projects that develop thermal management products across all industry sectors. The designs can range from simple modifications of existing product lines to significant customizations required to meet specific customer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Consult with customers to overcome problems and develop solutions.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to provide a cost-effective product for design and manufacture.
3. Produce designs and technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor CAD software.
4. Undertake mechanical design calculations that validate design concepts.
5. Create and modify Bills of Materials.
6. Conduct R&D, testing, and validation.
7. Prototyping and concept testing.
8. Use 3D printers and CNC equipment for sample production.
9. Perform performance and product characterization testing.
10. Support Procurement in alternative material selection and cost-reduction exercises.
11. Evaluate material performance in line with relevant EN standards.
12. Manage multiple development projects, ensuring achievement of set targets for timeline and cost.
13. Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and key stakeholders.
14. Provide project updates to customers and the larger team.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required
1. Relevant Engineering degree, HNC, or equivalent.
2. 5+ years of relevant experience in an engineering role.
3. Understanding of engineering principles and materials.
4. Ability to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external to the business.
5. High level of problem-solving and solution-focused ability.
6. Electrical experience and understanding.
7. Deeper understanding of thermodynamics (desirable).
8. Working to compliance EN (desirable).
