Position: Senior Electrical and ICA Engineer
Location: Bristol or Exeter with hybrid working available
Rate Guide: £55-65k (Neg DOE) plus car allowance, and excellent benefits package
Our Client: An integrated design and build provider working in the water sector. With over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, supporting six long-term water sector frameworks and two recently won frameworks, operating both as a sole contractor and in joint ventures and alliances.
The Role: Our client is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Senior EICA Engineer. Based in the Southwest region at either Bristol or Exeter, you will report directly to the Principal Engineer or Regional Discipline Lead. Your role will be to provide superior quality Engineering Design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, considering health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards pertaining to the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Produce design layouts which are cost-effective, meet the requirements of the specification, and can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
2. Ensure that standard practices are utilized wherever possible.
3. Maintain competitiveness.
4. Provide estimates and feedback for Proposals department.
5. Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
6. Assist in developing procedures and processes.
7. Monitor and review the procedures and processes.
8. Write, update, and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
9. Ensure coordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external.
10. Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
11. Assure customer satisfaction and work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognized as key.
12. Assist in supervising and developing staff.
13. Ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
14. Ensure designs take account of environmental issues and health and safety requirements.
Experience:
1. Experience in technical delivery of complex water industry engineering projects.
2. Experience of motor control centres, including protection, motor starters, VSDs, and harmonic mitigation methods.
3. Experience in selection and specification of Instrumentation, Industrial Communications, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
4. Understanding of water and sewage treatment principles.
5. Experience in managing/mentoring staff in relevant discipline aspects of water and sewage treatment plants.
6. Membership of a professional institution chartered or nearing chartership.
7. Relevant discipline Engineering qualification.
8. Ability to rationalize designs and produce economic plant layouts.
9. Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment, including mechanical, process, civil engineering, and project management.
10. A flexible mind, with the ability to assimilate large amounts of different data.
11. Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently, and convincingly.
12. Computer literacy.
13. Driving license.
14. Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design.
