As a Project Officer, within the Client and Contract Team, you will deliver a variety of highways projects. This could include developments to our Fix My Street platform, improvements to our asset management system, or enhancing operational performance across the service. You will use project management best practice to do so, and will be required to engage with colleagues across the service and our partner contractors.
You will work with the other Project Officer in the team to manage highways tenders throughout their lifecycle, ensuring prompt and compliant communications between contractors and clients, awarding contracts, and providing feedback to unsuccessful bidders as required by Procurement Regulations and LCC's Contract and Procurement Procedure Rules. You'll advise colleagues on best practices and compliant approaches to achieve desired outcomes, so excellent communication skills are key.
You will support the performance management of the highways service and the partner contractors. This may include data analysis, process mapping, and delivering training to drive performance improvements.
About the team
You will be joining a small friendly team that has the benefit of working with colleagues from across the Highways Service as well as with the management teams from our contractors.
We work in a hybrid way, dividing our time between working from Lancaster House in Lincoln, and working remotely. Occasional travel to other offices and depots may be required, so a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
We're looking for someone who excels in communication, both verbal and written, and can easily connect with others to share ideas and information.
You will need to be organised and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong IT skills are essential, as you'll be using various software and tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Collaboration is key in our team, so we need someone who enjoys working with others, values diverse perspectives, and can contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
If you bring a blend of excellent communication, IT and collaboration skills and thrive in a team setting, we'd love to hear from you., Disability Confident
