Essentially they are interactive fully customisable characters that can be given knowledge to interact with and educate people across a diverse range of industries and settings. The Character Artist ensures that the creative content of the project is delivered to the highest standards. In most cases, you collaborate closely with colleagues from other disciplines to ensure on-time and high-quality achievement of our milestone goals. The ideal candidate proactively seeks opportunities to elevate the look and feel of the project, embraces constructive feedback, and thrives in a highly collaborative and open environment. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Create high quality realistic 3D characters that meet the art direction and technical criteria. Develop and communicate ideas and concepts in a visual manner. Show skill diversity by creating content with various approaches. Actively participate in R&D and problem-solving artistic solutions to technical problems. Look at ways to improve workflow processes, pipelines and create documentations. Drive self-improvement plans and increase your creative potential. Have accountability for your own time management and meeting deadlines. Be the point of contact to character outsourcing partners. Be part of creating an open and positive culture. What we are looking for: 2-5 years working in the industry. Great portfolio showcasing realistic character art. Good sense of human and animal anatomy and proportions. Confident sense of form and shape combined with demonstrable 3D sculpting experience. Great knowledge of texturing and material definition on humans and creatures. Strong knowledge in industry standard art authoring software. Knowledge of character animation setup and rigging. Experience working with game engines. Have passion for games and understand game dev processes. Desired but not essential: Technical Animation Skills (Rigging, skinning, scripting). Worked in full production cycles on a shipped title. Concept Art Skills. Experience with Unity. Experience with JIRA.
