Salary Scale: £76.92 - £95.68 per day (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Worker to join a vibrant school in Winchester. This role requires compassion, resilience, and the ability to support children with various learning and behavioural challenges. Working closely with teaching staff, you’ll provide one-on-one and small group support, helping students overcome barriers to learning.
As an SEN Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs. Your role will be instrumental in helping students achieve their full potential through tailored support and guidance.
Responsibilities of an SEN Support Worker:
* Provide one-on-one and group support to students with special educational needs.
* Collaborate with teachers and SEN specialists to develop tailored support strategies.
* Assist with classroom activities, ensuring students remain engaged and focused.
* Monitor student progress and report back to teaching staff on developments.
* Support students' emotional and social well-being, maintaining a nurturing approach.
* Assist with personal care needs where required.
Required Qualifications for an SEN Support Worker:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
* Ability to communicate effectively and adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusivity and equality.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete a new check.
