An exciting opportunity has arisen at the University of Bristol for an Impact Development Associate (fixed term to 13th November 2027) to advance the impact of research through managing the delivery of the BBSRC-funded Diet and Health Open Innovation Research Club Innovation Hub "Consumer Lab".
This Innovation Hub is building academic-industry partnerships to ensure sustained acceptance of healthy foods. Activities will accelerate the development of solutions to diet and health challenges through:
1. Connecting academic and industry interests.
2. Delivering skills that are relevant to building academic-industry partnerships.
3. Providing funding for translation through the Impact Account.
4. Connecting with consumers and underserved groups.
The post focuses on the Consumer Lab Innovation Hub (part of the Diet and Health Open Innovation Research Club) and works in a team with colleagues who support the University’s three faculties and specific routes to impact. If you have experience of Research and Innovation grant management, developing the applications of research in business, charities, the public sector, or in a university then this role could be for you.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Hub’s Executive Committee, you will:
* Project-manage the Innovation Hub programme, acting as a key point of contact for internal and external researchers, collaborators, funders, and support staff to successfully deliver the Consumer Lab Innovation Hub.
* Facilitate connections between Hub members through the collaboration platform and manage a programme of outreach and dissemination events.
* Manage the delivery of the UK-wide devolved funding programme: running funding calls; organising peer review; project initiation; and reporting to the funder.
* Support the development of successful projects for the devolved impact funds, leading to further collaboration and investment.
* Develop new partnerships with businesses, civil society organisations, communities, and the public sector, supporting devolved funding from the BBSRC and developing funding proposals to UKRI and other agencies.
* Build new ideas for impact with researchers, conducting market research, brokering new partnerships, and working with organisations in any sector of the economy and society.
You should apply if
* You have a good understanding of research impact in the UK and can demonstrate experience of working in or with different types of organisations.
* You understand the Higher Education sector and the research funding environment.
* You have experience in managing research and innovation grants, developing partnerships and collaborative projects, and/or successful funding bids.
* A keen interest or experience in nutrition and behaviour research or the food sector would be an advantage.
We are interested in hearing from candidates from a wide range of professional and academic backgrounds.
This advert will close at 23:59 UK time on Thursday 21st November.
