The role of SARC Manager is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required.
Acting as the advocate for patients who attend the centre, you will empower them to feel in control and where applicable, support them during the forensic examination process.
Main duties of the job
The role will include:
* The SARC Manager will be accountable for co-ordinating and delivering safe and effective services to all clients of the SARC meeting National and Local Targets in relation to rape and sexual assault.
* The post holder will be the Registered CQC Manager and will lead on Forensic Standards for the SARC.
* The post holder will be required to evaluate and assess current service delivery and implement changes in practice that deliver significant and substantial improvements in access and service delivery, whilst working within a budget.
* The post holder will be responsible for the management of all employees associated with the SARC.
* Act as a sexual offence examiner for cover for the Forensic Service (adult and paediatric), following appropriate training by Mountain Healthcare.
* To act as the operational single point of contact (Ops SPOC) for Doctors.

Job responsibilities
This role is full-time, 42 hours per week, Location: Cumbria SARC Salary: £47,546 to £51,450. Salary will increase following probation and holding CQC registration.
2 x Clinical Shifts 9am-9pm, Management hours to be delivered across 3 days, Flexibility is expected over the weekends based on service need.
There is a requirement to be flexible to cover on call shifts as and when required 7am - 7pm and to travel to SARC's if needed.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (NMC) with a minimum of 3 years post qualification
* Please note, all successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, two satisfactory references, and Police vetting NVVP Level 2 checks.

* Trained to complete forensic examinations.
Experience
* Basic Life Support (Training Provided).
* Working with vulnerable people.
* Excellent communication skills and styles.
* Proven strong judgement and analysis.
* Venepuncture trained.
* Managerial experience
* Leadership and management experience
* Having awareness of SARC commissioning
* Excel and Word skills.
* Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children
* Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children and Adults
* Experience of working with individuals with complex needs
* Experience of working with individuals who have experienced sexual assault/violence
* Mentoring experience Forensic Nurse or Sexual Offence Examiner experience or exposure
