Calling all aspiring IT Enthusiasts Baltic Apprenticeships are thrilled to be partnering with Harborough District Council to hire their next IT Support Apprentice Harborough District Council has a small dedicated IT team who will be delivering a large number of change projects over the next two years. They are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join them in a Service Desk role. This means you will get involved with providing first line support to their users, assist with routine maintenance and assist in the delivery of some aspects of their projects. their users are either based in the main Council offices or at remote locations, including homes, so you will learn to diagnose issues remotely. A Typical Day in the Job: Providing first line support to HDC users and elected members Use the HDC Service Desk software to manage calls Assist in the diagnosis of technical issues Undertake routine maintenance, such as patching and updates Assist in the management of the asset register and auditing of system records Assist in the setup and distribution of new/replacement equipment to users Assist, where appropriate, in the delivery of change projects Create and maintain IT documentation Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge Excellent communication with great interpersonal skills Ability to work as part of a team An interest for IT Provide customer service Ability to share ideas Grade 4 in Maths & Grade 5 in English GCSE (Or C in Both) Salary, Hours?&?Benefits: Salary - £23,473 37 Hours per week - Between 8 AM & 6 PM 26 Days Annual Leave Bank Holidays Working within a friendly, supportive environment with the opportunity to earn and learn Employee assistance helpline Apprentices are required to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of the business. Usual working hours are between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00. You may be required to work on a rota system to cover the helpdesk and you may be required on occasion to stay late or work weekends to attend evening meetings undertake maintenance, with the support of your line manager. This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, well support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.
