The Role
Head of Distribution Policy
The role is a senior leadership position accountable for the review, development and implementation of distribution policies which govern the valuation of music usage for performing and mechanical royalties from all revenue streams: broadcast, UK online, multi-territory online, public performance and international.
To lead the distribution policy team, plan and execute a programme of distribution policy development that delivers the fairest, most accurate and efficient distributions for all royalties we pay to our c.175,000 members and to affiliated societies worldwide.
Responsibilities
As our Head of Distribution Policy your responsibilities will include:
* Prepare and present written recommendations for changes in distribution policy to our Distribution Committee by distilling and clearly communicating complex issues to a wide audience, maintain the integrity and trust of committee members, enable discussion and confidently field questions on a wide range of topics at various levels of detail, from overall strategic direction to detailed operational processes.
* Direct interaction with the iNED chair of the Distribution Committee, Board members who sit on the Distribution Committee, MCPS and counterparts at ICE and other external companies as needed, as well as with senior leaders within the business.
* Develop first class working relationships, negotiate and influence to secure the industry-wide consensus needed to progress with key policy changes.
* Design and deliver the wider distribution policy strategy, aligning with corporate goals, internal and external stakeholder needs and the needs of our members.
* Lead the small distribution policy team, maximise talent capability, maintain and develop a centre of expertise in distribution policy and practice by nurturing a pro-active, solutions-focused culture that promotes continuous improvement and embodies company values.
* Indirectly manage stakeholders of various levels of seniority in other teams including Operations, Commercial Partnerships (Licensing), CIO (IT) and Membership, successfully remove barriers, promote effective collaboration and invite diversity of thought.
* Senior decision-maker on policy matters directly affecting distributions, collaboration with key stakeholders to solve distribution problems, considering continuity with past approaches while identifying new and innovative solutions and overseeing their practical implementation.

The Process
Our interview process for this role is simple:
* First stage interview will take place virtually on MS Teams.
* Second stage interview will take place in person at our London Bridge Hub.

Location
We offer a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work from home up to three days a week.
