About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Independent Visitor (IV) Coordinator to join our team in Bristol. As IV Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who are in care by recruiting, training, and mentoring volunteers who befriend them.
Main Responsibilities
* Work closely with local authorities and multi-disciplinary teams to identify children who meet the independent visitor criteria;
* Recruit and screen volunteers from diverse backgrounds to ensure a suitable match for children and young people in care;
* Deliver comprehensive induction and training programs for volunteers to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge;
* Maintain a supportive structure for volunteers, setting objectives to monitor and evaluate their progress and outcomes;
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners, monitoring and evaluating outcomes and targets;
* Provide presentations to local authority staff groups and other stakeholders on the importance of independent visiting;
* Take a safeguarding approach in all aspects of the role, liaising with social workers, carers, and other professionals to support young people's needs;
Requirements
* Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a social care or related field;
* Strong awareness of safeguarding principles and practices;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Able to work flexibly, managing competing priorities and deadlines;
* Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders;
