The Maintenance Technician will diagnose, repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial paper converting equipment systems. May also install, dismantle, or move machinery and heavy equipment according to plans. This position will also be responsible for forklift repair.
Essential Functions
1. Diagnose, repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial paper converting machinery or equipment.
2. Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
3. Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
4. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines and forklifts.
5. Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
6. Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts.
7. Order and install replacement parts for machines.
8. Identify the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
9. Repair broken machines quickly and efficiently.
10. Prepare reports documenting work performed.
11. Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
12. Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
1. Mechanically inclined with great problem solving and analytical skills.
2. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
3. Organized with attention to detail.
4. Reliable and self-motivated.
5. Good communication skills.
6. Safety conscious.
Physical Requirements
1. Prolonged periods standing and walking.
2. Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
3. Must be able to visually inspect machines.
4. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Education/Experience
1. Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
