As a Prison Officer, you'll ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of everyone around you, help prisoners find structure, encourage positive choices, and support their rehabilitation. Your daily tasks include:
* Supervising prisoners during wing activities
* Overseeing work and education programs
* Handling operational tasks like headcounts, searches, security, and admin
* Managing at-risk prisoners
We operate 24/7, covering shifts on days, evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, with a rota that supports work-life balance.
Preparing for your recruitment journey:
You will complete an online assessment. Successful candidates will be invited to interviews, role plays, written exercises, competency tests, and fitness assessments including:
* Bleep Test
* Agility Test
* Shield Hold Test
* Grip Test
After passing, you'll attend a [number]-week Initial Training Course (ITC), including classroom training and shadowing, earning a Diploma in Custodial Care, First Aid, and Control & Restraint training.
