Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team at our Desborough site. This is a 15-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity. As Senior Management Accountant, you will contribute to the overall success of the site and report directly to the Regional Head of Management Accounting with a dotted line report to the Depot General Manager. You will be responsible for the production of weekly and monthly Management Accounts for the whole site and its operations.
This is a fixed-term, full-time position working Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm, offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a market leader.
Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Senior Management Accountant include:
1. Producing weekly costings for all customer contracts at the site and across other sites.
2. Submitting weekly costings and KPI information to customers and Head Office.
3. Producing monthly management accounts for the site.
4. Investigating and explaining variances in the management accounts.
5. Producing a monthly review pack of financial and operational management information for discussion with customers at review meetings.
6. Producing annual budgets and periodic reforecasts for a number of profit centres.
7. Invoice and Credit Control customers and update the Company cash forecast.
8. Dealing with site suppliers, including self-billing subcontract hauliers on a weekly basis.
9. Completing numerous ad-hoc reports and project tasks as required.
10. Managing a small finance and administration team based at the site.
This list is not exhaustive, and the successful position holder may be required to carry out any task which the Company might reasonably require you to do.
Qualifications
To apply for the role of Senior Management Accountant, you will possess the following skills, experiences, and qualifications:
1. Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
2. Experience of working at a stand-alone site.
3. Highly proficient in using IT, including MS Office and accounts software.
4. Excel is a key management information tool; a sound knowledge of spreadsheet writing and analysis of data is essential, including the use and creation of macros.
5. Experienced in accounts preparation, including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and income deferral.
6. Good communicator at all levels, including Board Level, operational Warehouse and Transport Managers, and staff, customers, suppliers, and other internal staff.
7. Good team player with the drive to see tasks through to completion and meet deadlines set.
8. Inquisitive in nature with the ability to take initiative, looking for constant development and improvement of procedures.
9. Excellent attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy.
10. Ability to coach and mentor at different levels within the Company, providing an understanding of finance to non-finance staff.
11. Willingness to learn about the Company and industry with a desire to excel and develop.
