We are seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded Alternative Provision school in Chesterfield (S43) for the remainder of the academic year. This full-time role offers the opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.
Role
- In this role, you will work closely with students with additional needs, offering both one-to-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom.
- A solid understanding of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviours, and developmental delays, is essential.
- The school provides excellent in-house training, CPD opportunities, and a supportive team environment.
- Please note that a full driving licence is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group support to students requiring additional assistance.
- Support the assigned child within the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Foster active engagement and participation in lessons and curriculum activities for SEN pupils.
- Assist students with reading, writing, and class assignments to support their learning progress.
Ideal Candidate
- Holds a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with children in a school setting is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs.
- Flexible and adaptable in teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
