The opportunity
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager who thrives on responsibility, coordination, and technical excellence. This is a leadership opportunity to drive the delivery of engineering work packages — from design and specification to verification and technical assurance — all while making a meaningful impact in a safety-critical environment.
This role will be based in North West and Oxfordshire

Your duties and responsibilities will be
* Leading and coordinating a multi-discipline design engineering team (technical, safety case, and supply chain as needed).
* Ensuring engineering work is delivered efficiently, effectively, and meets agreed specifications, timelines, and costs.
* Making sure design solutions are integrated, safe, fit for purpose, and aligned with the project’s business case and execution plan.
* Identifying and managing all technical, safety, and engineering risks.
* Reporting on performance and progress accurately and on time.
* Deploying and maintaining appropriate design standards, practices, and quality controls.
* Forecasting and planning engineering resources, ensuring your team includes competent, qualified professionals.
* Overseeing the engagement of subject matter experts and capturing lessons learned to continuously improve delivery.
You will have the following qualifications & experience
* Well proven experience in engineering roles where professional judgement was critical — within the last decade.
* Recent experience working in a regulated, quality-assured environment — nuclear experience preferred.
* Proven ability to chair design reviews, gate reviews, and technical governance sessions.
* Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
* Beng or Meng
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Fellow (FEng) status.
The setting for the role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
