About the Role
The Assistant Commissioning Editor plays a key role in our new commissioning programme for online Irish practical guidance by commissioning leading professionals to write for us. The successful candidate will have an Irish law degree or similar and be a self-motivated, enthusiastic and conscientious individual with a strong interest in the Irish legal market.
Responsibilities
1. Managing the end to end commissioning process (commissioning leading authors) from ‘request for content’ through to publication.
2. Conducting comprehensive research to find appropriate authors.
3. Negotiating contractual terms across all commissioning work, keeping to budgets and timelines.
4. Working closely and developing excellent relationships with other LexisNexis teams and external authors.
5. Looking for improvements to existing commissioning processes to increase efficiency.
6. Reporting on usage trends and progress using data analytics/reporting tools.
Requirements:
7. Strong analytical and research skills.
8. Articulate and literate with the ability to express the benefits of writing for LexisNexis in a compelling and appealing way.
9. A highly organised approach to managing workload and multiple projects.
10. Strong commercial focus.
11. A keen eye for detail, able to edit short commentary pieces for house style where necessary (legal editing not required).
12. Self-confident and credible, able to establish a rapport with leading members of the profession.
Desirable
13. Irish law degree.
