£33, - £35, pro rata / £18.15 - £19.55 per hour (including Distance Islands Allowance)
Braeburn Court is located in St Margaret’s Hope and offers Housing Support and Care at Home Service to older persons who are supported and enabled to live independently and manage their own tenancies.
We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and innovative team player who is highly motivated towards providing a high-quality service underpinned by a re-ablement ethos.
The post holder will primarily assume a lead role within Braeburn Court.
The service is seeking to recruit motivated people with organisational, communication and supervisory skills, who will be responsible for the day to day running of the service and will report to the Registered Manager and assist them to ensure that the requirements of the Health and Social Care standards and the Care Inspectorate are achieved. The post holder should be able to contribute to service development and lead by example in implementing positive change.
You must be able to demonstrate that you have a commitment, knowledge and experience of supporting older people, a strong sense of professionalism, sound knowledge of supporting the development of outcome focused support plans, risk assessments and on-going co-ordination of high-quality support packages, under pinned by a re-ablement approach. You will be able to deliver the required supervision and support to staff to ensure that they are competent and able to support individuals to achieve their personal outcomes. You should be adaptable and able to work flexibly with a capacity to work under pressure.
Applicants will hold an SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, or other relevant practice qualification to meet SSSC registration requirements and either hold, or achieve, a supervisory qualification that meets the SSSC requirements as a Supervisor in a Care at Home Service within the first period of registration. You are required to register with the SSSC within 3 months of appointment.
You will be provided with regular supervision and training opportunities to enhance your existing skills.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
