Job Title: Welding/NDT Inspector
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £39,873+ dependant on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. You will be conducting the visual inspections of welds using the relevant inspection gauges.
2. The role will require you to conduct welding compliance to the relevant WPS’s, inclusive of welder qualification testing.
3. As part of your tasks, you will be conducting Fluorescent Penetrant Inspections to ensure acceptance or detect discontinuities (defects).
4. You will be establishing and adhering to relevant NDT techniques.
5. It is required you will evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable specifications, standards and drawing requirements.
6. Ensure the population and reporting of inspection/test results are delivered to the Quality Engineer & Operations Function.
7. You will be performing other related tasks as assigned by management.
Your skills and experience:
Essential:
1. Welding Inspection – Minimum CSWIP 3.1 / PCN Level 2 / WI Level 2.
2. Dye Penetrant Inspection – Minimum PCN Level 2 / PT Level 2.
3. You will have a strong background in NDT procedures & techniques.
4. The ability to read and interpret weld defects through visual and NDT techniques.
5. The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, procedures, techniques and contract requirements.
Desirable:
1. Trade background - time served in trade discipline.
2. Radiography - PCN Level 2 or equivalent.
3. Radiographic Interpretation - PCN Level 2 or equivalent.
4. Digital Radiography knowledge.
