An exciting opportunity for two Team Managers to join our Family Support & Safeguarding Teams on a full-time (South Cambridgeshire) and part-time 20-hours (Cambridge) basis, both roles are based at Fawcett House in Cambridge.
This opportunity could be for you if you’re looking to expand your existing management skills and experience in a different service area or if you’re a Senior Practitioner wishing to step up into a management role.
You’ll need to be an experienced practitioner, committed to improving outcomes for children & young people. You’ll work in a strengths-based and solution-focused approach and have good organisation skills, be an effective communicator, have a sound understanding of thresholds and can work closely with internal and external agencies.
Knowledge and understanding of Family Support & Safeguarding is advantageous but not essential as training and support will be provided for the right candidate. In return you can expect a supportive and encouraging peer and management structure and a chance to enhance your own skills and abilities in Family Support & Safeguarding. What will you be doing?
As a Team Manager, you will be overseeing a team of Social Workers and alternatively qualified practitioners, supporting children & families who need protection and support open to statutory intervention under Section 17, Section 47, and private and public law outline.
The role involves ensuring robust management oversight is provided to ensure children and young people’s plans are progressed, responses are proportionate and child focused, timescales are adhered to, and supervision is up to date and reflects the needs of the children and intervention.
The role of the Team Manager involves practice and professional development for the staff and the team. Working closely with other Team Managers and the Service Manager, you will be a key part of the development journey of the service.
About you
We're looking for confident and dynamic individuals who enjoy making a difference in their local community, are curious and spot things that others might not see, enjoys building relationships and likes to explore possibilities.
You must:
* Be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration
* Have the ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently
* Have strong leadership skills
* Have experience of child protection systems and processes, court work and working with children who are looked after
* Have knowledge of statutory requirements and local procedures
