We are very excited to be recruiting a Service Manager for the Acute Medicine (Cardiology, Respiratory and Stroke) Directorate.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Service Manager, who has experience working in hospital environments.
This is an extremely busy department, which requires someone to maintain performance while working in a fast-paced environment and delivering on important projects.
The role will support the directorate management team in the design, delivery, and management of the service across Cardiology, Respiratory, and Stroke.
Main duties of the job
To assist the Directorate Manager, Matron, and Clinical Lead to develop and deliver high-quality, patient-focused, and cost-effective pathways and services, meeting the requirements of our Commissioners and Trust's Annual Business Plan.
To assist in providing and developing a working environment and open culture that fosters high morale and commitment among all staff and promotes their well-being, professional and personal development.
Job responsibilities
* To assist the Directorate Management Team (Matron, Directorate Manager (DM), and Associate Directorate Manager (ADM)) in ensuring the smooth and effective running of the Cardiology, Respiratory, and Stroke services.
* To work with, and in support of, the senior team in all aspects of service delivery to ensure performance is maintained and care effectively delivered.
* To efficiently lead change, with a patient-centered approach, that aligns with the Trust's and department's strategic vision and business plan.
* To be responsible for reporting on performance metrics, supporting the directorate management team to provide an effective patient-focused service.
* To ensure that the Services activities focus on supporting patient care within available resources and in line with the strategic direction of the Care Group and the Trust.
* To ensure delivery of excellent, patient-focused, and cost-effective services which are responsive to the needs of the patients, carers, and GPs and are in line with the Trust's strategic direction and service plans.
* To set and review standards of services continuously, in line with national performance standards, local contractual requirements, activity, and financial targets.
* To support the patient pathway managers (PPM) in managing the admin team, ensuring they provide an effective administrative service.
* To play an active role within the Directorate Management Team, participating in the full range of the Directorate tasks as required.

* Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience at postgraduate level
