Dyer & Butler are currently looking to recruit a Contracts Manager to join our Central Region team to work in London and the Anglia area.
Job Requirements for the Contracts Manager role:
1. Monitor the performance of staff under their control and multiple site activities.
2. Prepare tenders and ensure that competitive processes are produced with adequate resources for health, safety and environmental issues.
3. Control contract budget to ensure commercial success through the management of budget and monitoring costs by application of the company procedures relating to finance and commercial management.
4. Monitor site safety through inspections and review the findings with Project Managers.
5. Implement arrangements for the production, review and approval of method statements, risk assessments and Project Management Plans including Work Package Plans and Task Safety Briefings.
6. Support and regularly input to Dyer and Butler Behavioural Safety Programme (It Starts With Me).
7. Ensure the efficient management of resources to provide safe delivery of a quality end product with minimum risk to the environment.
8. Understand the contract including all relevant obligations and commitments.
9. Monitor activity to enable claims of reimbursable costs and disruption to be logged in accordance with the contract requirements.
10. Comply with the Company policies and procedures ensuring that Dyer & Butler meets its obligations under HASAW Act 1974 and other relevant statutes.
11. Implement systems to ensure competent labour and sub-contractors are available to deliver work safely and economically.
12. Co-ordinate with the Client project teams to deliver the required end product.
13. Provide a safety and performance briefing monthly to ensure staff and labour is aware of any relevant standards and procedures.
14. Produce monthly report to the Management Team in accordance with the meeting schedule and attend monthly meetings as required.
15. Keep up to date with legislations and current industry trends.
16. Develop estimates / tenders under their own leadership or part of a larger delivery team.
17. Develop long term relationship with clients to maintain repeat portfolio of work.
Skills and Experience:
1. Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
2. Commitment to the highest practicable standards of health and safety and environmental protection.
3. A proven ability to manage and track contracts from tender through to completion.
4. Level 5 Leadership & Management - Preferable.
5. Working knowledge and thorough understanding of CDM roles and SHEQ duties.
6. Ability to assess risks including those associated with the railway.
7. Experienced in managing delivery teams, ranging from numerous smaller contracts to large multi-million-pound contracts.
8. Good written and oral communication skills.
9. PTS Certification.
10. Environmental Awareness.
11. Desire for self-development and continuous self-improvement.
12. Demonstrate Dyer and Butlers values and behaviours.
13. CSCS Black/White card - Preferable.
