Job Overview: We are seeking qualified Steeplejack(s) to join our building maintenance team. We are looking for hard working, experienced people from team members right through to Site Manager and Senior Site Manager level. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and construction tasks at elevated heights, specifically related to chimneys, steeples, and other tall structures. Site Managers and above will be responsible for leading a team of people and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on-time and within budget. Our ideal candidate is safety-conscious, skilled in working at heights, and has a strong background in construction or maintenance. Job Responsibilities and Duties: Inspect and assess the condition of steeples, chimneys, and other elevated structures. Perform maintenance, repairs, and renovations to these structures, including masonry work, roofing, and metalwork. Use heavy-duty equipment and tools, including scaffolding, ladders, and safety harnesses, to work at heights safely. Inspect, maintain, and report any deficiencies in rope access equipment and tools. Ensure all equipment is certified and in good working condition. Conduct detailed assessments of job sites to determine the safest and most efficient methods for completing maintenance tasks. Work closely with other maintenance staff and team members to complete tasks efficiently, communicating effectively about job progress and any issues that arise. Maintain accurate records of work undertaken, including tasks completed, equipment used, and safety inspections performed. Communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders, addressing any concerns and providing updates on progress. Follow all safety protocols and regulations while working at heights. Respond to emergency situations as needed. Willing to work away when needed. Write Risk Assessments and Method Statements (Site Manager level) Job Requirements: Relevant certifications in high-rise work, such as Working at Heights, ATLAS, or Rope Access certification. Minimum of [2-3 years] experience in Steeplejack and building maintenance tasks Completion of health and safety training, including but not limited to first aid, working at heights, and hazard assessment. Must be physically fit and able to perform strenuous tasks while working at heights. Proficient in various maintenance tasks such as painting, cleaning, masonry work, demolition, and hardware installation. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery. Strong verbal communication skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent analytical skills with the capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Ability to read blueprints and technical documents (Site Manager level) Able to write Risk Assessments and Method Statement (Site Manager level) Strong leadership skills who has a can do attitude (Site Manager) Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures related to working at heights.
