Job Description Many people with learning disabilities and/or autism want to work and have a range of skills and qualities to bring to the workplace. Glasgow Supported Employment Service supports people with learning disabilities and/or autism to; secure and keep a full time job. Each job coach in the team has targets to support people into full time employment. The service delivers the five stage supported employment model. Due to the type of in work support provided to service users, the post holder must be able to work flexibly in the early mornings; evenings; weekends and public holidays, often at short notice for which a non-standard payment is included. Experience of supporting disadvantaged groups into employment is essential, as is an HNC or SVQ level 3 qualification. The post holder will report to the Supported Employment Service Manager and will operate out of a variety of locations across the city including those of partner organisations. The ability to develop and maintain close working relationships with partner organisations and employers is essential. The role will involve travel throughout the city and possibly beyond and therefore a driving licence is desirable. These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended). Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment.
