Due to the increase of pupil numbers and Business as one of the most popular subjects with KS4 & KS5 options, A-Level and BTEC Business; King Alfred's Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resourceful and committed Teacher of Business Studies.
Teaching and Learning:
* Plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to students at some or all of Key Stages 4 and 5.
* Accurately assess and report on progress and any concerns to line manager and parents.
* Contribute to curriculum development work.
* Ensure that lessons are inclusive and meet the needs of all students.
Pastoral Care:
* To provide high quality pastoral care as a tutor to a group of students in one-year group.
* Contribution to the wider aims of the Academy.
* To engage with and deliver the broad extra-curricular experience offered to the students of the Academy.
The successful applicant will be committed to securing the best outcomes for all students within the Academy, as well as being part of the wider curriculum offered to all students. We are looking for someone to inspire our students and promote a love for this subject both in and out of the classroom.
Our interview process may involve supervised teaching of a micro-lesson, a student Q&A and a panel interview including a presentation on a pre-advised topic.

King Alfred’s Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Wantage, Oxfordshire. It is an academy converter supported by Vale Academy Trust, a South Oxfordshire multi-academy trust that supports eight other schools in the area.
A larger than average secondary school, King Alfred’s provides 2,205 places for students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed. Current number on roll is 1700. The school converted to academy status in August 2011.
